Are You Happy?

It’s such a simple question, isn’t it? Are you happy?

And yet, for so many of us, the answer isn’t simple at all. We’ve been conditioned to believe happiness is something that happens to us—when circumstances line up just right, when people behave the way we hope, when our work or relationships look a certain way. But here’s the truth: happiness is always a choice.

If you’re not happy, you have the power to choose something different. It may not feel easy, and it may not change overnight, but happiness begins with a decision. A decision to no longer settle for a life that feels heavy. A decision to listen to your heart. A decision to trust that life will meet you when you honor yourself.

For me, the choice came when I realized I was buried in busyness. I was working so hard, saying yes to too much, giving away my energy until there was nothing left. That pace was unsustainable—and it wasn’t bringing me joy.

So I made different choices.

✨ I stopped working with so many clients.

✨ I created space for long stretches of alone time and quiet.

✨ I filled my days with movement—walking, swimming, exercising.

✨ I returned to nature: sitting in the sun, watching the sunrise and sunset, gazing at the moon and stars, staring at the mountains until my heart softened.

✨ I learned to be present with simple beauty: clouds moving across the sky, the rhythm of my breath, the sound of the wind.

✨ I made time for good conversations with friends, for laughter with my boys when I can see them, and for endless joy with Cody, my funny bunny who never fails to make me smile.

These choices weren’t about escaping life—they were about embracing it. About slowing down enough to hear what my heart truly wanted.

So I ask you again: Are you happy?

If not, what choices could you make today to move closer to joy? Could you say no to something that drains you? Could you step outside and breathe under the open sky? Could you make more space for the people and moments that light you up?

Happiness isn’t “out there” somewhere—it’s in your hands, right now, in the choices you make.
